United Community, Unlimited Potential: A Visual Legacy

In honor of Marietta Community Foundation's 50th anniversary, we proudly present a mural that captures the essence of our commitment to Washington County. It stands as a symbol of our gratitude for the past, our dedication to the present, and our unwavering hope for the future.

The Base: Rooted in Our Mission and Legacy

At the mural's base, the tree represents the legacy we are building in Washington County. Every branch, every leaf, is a testament to the seeds we have planted over the years – gifts from our donors, grants that have funded essential services, scholarships that have helped young people pursue their dreams, and partnerships that have strengthened the fabric of our community.

Below this tree are the words For Good, Forever, a phrase that has defined our Foundation since its earliest days. Each action, no matter how small, contributes to a larger vision that will continue to grow and evolve many years from now.

The Bridge: Connecting Donors and Community Needs

Moving up the mural, you'll see a bridge reflecting the beauty of Washington County. Beyond that connection, the bridge symbolizes the role we play in bringing people together to make a difference.

Each donor has unique interests and goals, and it is our mission to ensure that their contributions reach the areas of greatest need. We act as a bridge between generosity and action, helping to ensure that each gift, whether large or small, makes a meaningful impact.

This section of the mural reminds us that just as these bridges in Washington County connect people and places, our Foundation strives to connect our donors with the causes that matter to them most.

The Top: United Community, Unlimited Potential

At the top of the mural, the words United Community, Unlimited Potential reflect our belief in the power of working together. These words are not just an aspiration; they capture the essence of what we strive to achieve through our relationships and connections in our community.

This phrase represents our vision for Washington County's future. By fostering a united community, we can unlock the limitless potential of the individuals and organizations that call this area home.

We hope that when people see these words, they are reminded of what we can accomplish together. It is a call to action, an invitation to be part of something bigger, and a reminder that, by working together, there is no limit to what we can achieve.

Celebrating Our Community and Honoring Our Partners

The mural's vibrant colors were chosen to inspire feelings of joy and hope. We wanted this mural to be more than just a piece of art; we wanted it to be an uplifting presence, a reminder of the happiness and positivity we aim to bring into the lives of those we serve.

This project would not have been possible without the creative talents of artist Alix Northrup and the detailed installation work by Jordana Bungard. Their dedication has brought our vision to life, and we are deeply grateful for their contributions.

Laney Hitchens, Communications and Marketing Associate at Marietta Community Foundation, shared how meaningful this project was to her personally. "This mural is especially close to my heart, as it marks my first major project with the Foundation. Seeing it come to life has been incredibly rewarding, and it is an honor to contribute to something that so beautifully represents our commitment to the community."

Heather Allender, President and CEO, expressed her gratitude, stating, "After many years with this incredible organization, I am filled with appreciation as I see our mission reflected in this meaningful mural. It serves as a powerful reminder that our legacy is defined by the relationships we've built and the lives we've touched. I believe it will inspire future generations to continue our legacy of service and compassion."

This mural is not just for us – it is for you. Your support has been the driving force behind everything we have accomplished over the past 50 years. It is a symbol of our shared journey and a tribute to the impact we have made together. We look forward to building on this legacy for many more years as we continue to serve Washington County, For Good, Forever.
