Establish Your Legacy Through Planned Giving

Consider what drives your passion and how you want to be remembered. The 1788 Legacy Society enables you to give back to the community that has enriched your life, ensuring your charitable impact lasts for generations.

What is Planned Giving?

Planned giving is the strategic integration of philanthropy and financial planning, maximizing the impact of your assets both during your lifetime and beyond. MCF works alongside your financial and legal advisors to tailor charitable contributions that benefit both you and the community, with our services being complimentary and user-friendly.

What is a Legacy Society?

The 1788 Legacy Society honors individuals who create a lasting charitable impact by including Marietta Community Foundation in their estate plans. There are many ways to join, and your contributions ensure that your commitment to the community are honored and sustained forever.

Benefits of Giving

Lasting Impact: Your legacy extends far beyond your lifetime, benefiting the community you cherish.

Tax Benefits: Intelligent estate management options that are financially advantageous.

Recognition: We honor your generosity in our Legacy Display and publications, with the option for anonymity.

How to Create a Planned Gift

One of the most straightforward methods to arrange a planned gift is to designate Marietta Community Foundation as a recipient of your retirement assets or life insurance policy. This can be easily done by contacting your financial advisor or account manager to modify the beneficiary details.

Additionally, you can opt to leave a planned gift through your will or trust. This can be achieved by including language such as “I/we bequeath to Marietta Community Foundation (tax ID 74-3054287), located in Marietta, Ohio, [a specific percentage] of my/our residual estate or a sum of $[specified amount].”

Expressing your intention to leave a gift to MCF is sufficient for joining our 1788 Legacy Society, and is easily done with a Statement of Donor Intent.

We are committed to working closely with you to ensure your gift is remembered and honored in the way you envision, including how you prefer to be acknowledged for your generosity.
