Nonprofits Win A Total of $15K Through MCF’s Nonprofit Challenge
Washington County, OH – Since November 2nd, local nonprofit organizations have been collecting toys in an attempt to win top-prizes in Marietta Community Foundation’s Annual Nonprofit Challenge, sponsored by Superior Toyota Hyundai.
“We are thrilled to sponsor this event each year,” said T.R. Hathaway, Owner of superior Toyota Hyundai. “These nonprofits are an important part of our community… we are proud to support their work in the area!”
For three organizations the hard-work of collecting these newly bought toys has paid off in a major way. On November 18th, during a Facebook Live stream at the Superior Toyota Hyundai facility, the three winners of the Challenge were announced.
1st Place - $7,000 Winner: O’Neill Senior Center
2nd Place - $5,000 Winner: Washington County 4-H
3rd Place - $3,000 Winner: Building Bridges to Careers
A total of 10 nonprofits competed in the Nonprofit Challenge and collected more than $10,000 worth of new toys for The Salvation Army’s Washington County Angel Tree Program.
Earlier this year, the Foundation partnered with The Salvation Army to expand its Angel Tree Program to serve up to 1,000 children this Christmas. Utilizing the Nonprofit Challenge to assist in serving local children, while, at the same time, benefiting local nonprofits was a win-win.
“The Foundation serves as a bridge in our community,” said Heather Allender, President & CEO of the Foundation. “As we find ways to improve our community, we are constantly trying to connect groups, projects, and ideas to make a greater impact!”
The Foundation is already looking forward to 2021’s Annual Nonprofit Challenge and the continued partnership with Superior Toyota Hyundai.
