Washington County, OH — Marietta Community Foundation is excited to announce the arrival of Courtney Wentz as Communications and Program Services Director. Courtney’s love of the Mid-Ohio Valley and her background in communication, non-profit fundraising and graphic arts made her a prime candidate to build upon the great work of Mason Beuhring, who held the position from December 2018 through May 2021.

A proud Marietta native, Courtney attended Warren High School and graduated from Marietta College with a Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Communication and minors in Psychology and Strategic Communication- Advertising/Public Relations. Following graduation, Courtney returned to her collegiate alma mater as a full-time staff member in the Office of Advancement. She began her career as Assistant Director of Alumni Engagement in August 2017 and was promoted to Associate Director of Annual Giving in September 2019. In this capacity, her work supported efforts to benefit the Marietta Fund, increase alumni participation and strengthen institutional bonds through e-newsletters, student ambassador programs, direct mail campaigns, crowdfunding campaigns, student philanthropy campaigns, the phonathon program, and more.

In addition to the aforementioned, Courtney maintains a photography business that she began in 2013 and has been working as an event planner for Little Black Dress Events in Parkersburg, WV for over five years. In her free-time, Courtney volunteers for the Ohio River Sternwheel Festival and advises for the Chi Gamma Chapter of Chi Omega Fraternity.

“I am thrilled to join the dedicated, capable team at Marietta Community Foundation.” said Courtney, “Growing up, my parents taught my brother and me the importance of volunteering and helping others whenever you can. To this day, I make a point to go out of my way for others and that’s what I feel the Foundation does for our community. Their mission and vision align with my personal values and I am excited to be able to positively impact Washington County in a new way.”
