Marietta Community Foundation Awarded 123K in 2024 Fall Grant Cycle
Marietta Community Foundation is proud to announce the results for the 2024 Fall Grant Cycle, with a total of $123,038.37 awarded to support nonprofit organizations across Washington County. These grants, funded through the Community Impact Fund and supported by contributions from the Foundation’s fundholders, are designed to address immediate needs, enhance community services, and make strategic investments that promote the long-term growth and well-being of the community.

Community Impact Grants
Betsey Mills Club: $10,000
Funding was allocated for the repair of their pool to ensure it meets the necessary standards.Castle Museum: $5,600
Funding for roof and gutter repairs and the restoration of the carriage house cupola, preserving the building's historic integrity.Children's Toy & Doll Museum: $5,000
Funding to replace the HVAC system, protecting the museum’s collection and improving visitor comfort.City of Belpre EMS: $3,000
Funding to purchase a new Stryker Power Pro XT Cot, improving patient safety and comfort during transport.Consumer Credit Counseling Services of the Mid-Ohio Valley: $100
Funding to support and enhance the Financial Literacy Program.Habitat for Humanity of the Mid-Ohio Valley: $10,000
Funding to build home #116 in Beverly for a family who has contributed ‘sweat equity’ to the construction process.Little Muskingum Volunteer Fire Department: $10,000
Funding to purchase a pre-owned fire truck to enhance emergency response times in Ludlow Township.Lower Muskingum Historical Society: $5,000
Funding to replace the deteriorating asphalt roof on the Oliver Tucker Museum with a durable metal roof, ensuring longevity and improved display capacity.Marietta College: $5,000
Funding to support Nonprofit LEAD’s capacity-building initiatives for local nonprofits.Memorial Health Foundation: $20,000 Multi-year grant of $100,000, distributed over 5 years, to support the construction of a new women and children’s hospital in Belpre, in partnership with Akron Children’s Hospital.
Ohio Valley Soccer League: $5,000
Funding for field upgrades to prevent waterlogging, enhancing playability, and reducing game cancellations.Salem Township Volunteer Fire Department: $3,988.37
Funding for the replacement of patient safety equipment, including a new vacuum mattress and AEDs.United Church Homes (Glenwood Community): $2,000
Funding for the Music & Memory program, helping residents with dementia reconnect with emotional memories through personalized music.United Church Homes (Harmar Place): $2,000
Funding for the Opening Minds through Art program, enabling people with dementia to tap into their creativity.Washington County Homeless Project: $15,000
Funding to support the winter operations of the Drop-In Center, providing food, clothing, and referrals to homeless individuals.
In addition to Community Impact Grants, the Foundation shared Simple Solution grant requests with fundholders to assist nonprofits with straightforward needs.
The following organizations received a total of $20,250 in funding towards their projects: The Arc of the Mid-Ohio Valley, Building Bridges to Careers, Community Action of Washington-Morgan Counties, Ely Chapman Education Foundation, EVE Incorporated, First Baptist Church of Marietta, Fort Frye Band Boosters, O’Neill Center, Southeast Ohio History Center, Village of Beverly (B&W Gro), Warren High School, WASCO, Inc., Washington County Career Center, and Waterford Band Boosters.
These grants fund a wide range of initiatives, from enhancing educational programs and community events to improving facilities and providing essential services to vulnerable populations, amplifying the positive impact on the region.
