Washington County, OH – In many households across Washington County, budgets can become so constrained that presents on Christmas Day seem impossible.

Luckily, Marietta Community Foundation is stepping in and offering community members the chance to ensure each child has a joyful holiday.

The Foundation has once again partnered with The Salvation Army in its Angel Tree program, which gives gifts to children in need. Individuals can stop by the Foundation’s office, 100 Putnam Street in Downtown Marietta, and select an Angel Tree tag that gives details on each eligible child. Details include the child’s first name, age, and a “wish list.”

“This is an easy way to give back to the community during the holidays,” said Heather Allender, President & CEO of the Foundation. “People can drop by our office on their way to the store, do their shopping, and make a huge difference in the lives of local children.”

Donors can drop off their child’s gifts at The Salvation Army’s location in Downtown Marietta. The Salvation Army requests that each gift remains unwrapped and all gifts are dropped off by December 16th.

Marietta Community Foundation works to improve Washington County through grants and initiatives. If you are interested in learning more about their efforts, please contact Heather Allender at 740-373-3286 or heather@mcfohio.org.
