A Decade of Dedication: Celebrating Britani’s 10th Anniversary with the Foundation

Ten years ago, Britani was a recent Marietta College graduate with a bachelor’s degree in finance. Today, she is Vice President, Donor and Program Services at Marietta Community Foundation – and her journey is one worth celebrating.

After graduating from Marietta College in May of 2013, Britani cherished her time as a stay-at-home mom to her four children but quickly realized she missed the rhythm of professional life. Still connected to the college as an alum, she received job postings—one of which was for an Office Manager position at the Foundation.

“I didn’t know a lot about the Foundation at the time,” Britani admitted. “But I’d always felt drawn to helping people, and I’d volunteered with nonprofits around Washington County. I just had this gut feeling it would be the right fit for me.”

Her instincts paid off. Britani applied with enthusiasm, and before long, she found herself hired as the Foundation’s Office Manager.

From day one, she dove in with determination, managing the daily operations, overseeing financial data, and keeping everything running smoothly behind the scenes. But what truly set her apart—and made her early years so special—was the mentorship she received.

“Heather helped me so much in the early days of my position,” Britani said. “She helped me learn the ins and outs of the Foundation. That kind of support made all the difference in where I am today.”

As time went on, Britani’s role evolved. She took on more responsibility in finance and operations, but she really found her niche when she transitioned into Donor and Program Services Director.

“I love my role in being a connector,” Britani shared. “Helping someone transform their passion into lasting impact—that’s what fuels me every day. It’s the most rewarding part of what I do.”

Over the course of ten years, Britani’s work and dedication to the Foundation’s mission have been instrumental in building relationships with donors, managing scholarships and grants, and strengthening the ties between the Foundation and the community.

Her recent promotion to Vice President, Donor and Program Services is a testament of her hard work and passion she brings to her work every day.

“I’m incredibly grateful to Heather and the Board for believing in me and giving me the opportunity to grow in this role,” Britani said. “Every day, I feel lucky to do what I do. I love coming to work, knowing that I’m making a difference.”

Beyond her role at the Foundation, Britani is deeply involved in her community. She’s a member of the Marietta Noon Lions Club and serves on the Nonprofits LEAD Advisory Board. At home, she’s been married to her husband, Brad, for 12 years and is a proud mom of four.

Reflecting on Britani’s journey and her well-earned promotion, President & CEO, Heather Allender, shared just how much Britani has meant to the Foundation over the past decade.

“Britani has been by my side through so much, and her role at the Foundation has truly been essential to our success in the community,” said Heather. “There was a time when it was just the two of us managing everything, and we’ve grown so much together—both personally and professionally. As we’ve expanded our team, her leadership and deep connection to our mission have been invaluable. Her promotion to Vice President is not only well-deserved but a testament to the incredible impact she’s had on our work, our team, and the community we serve.”

As we celebrate Britani’s 10-year anniversary, we’re reminded how lucky we are to have her as part of the Foundation family. Her passion, dedication, and heart for service have left a lasting mark—not just within the organization, but throughout Washington County. Britani’s journey is proof that when you lead with purpose and say “yes” to the right opportunities, incredible things can happen.
