Goals & Responsibilities

The Development Committee leads the Board in resource development, fundraising, and community outreach. They collaborate with staff to create comprehensive plans, familiarize board members with fundraising skills, and participate in outreach activities. Additionally, the committee oversees the organization's development plan, ensures financial stability, and actively engages major donors.

The Grants Committee carefully reviews grant applications for the Foundation's Community Impact and Simple Solution grant cycles. They conduct thorough reviews of applications, perform site visits, and meet to discuss and recommend allocations for each grant cycle.

The Governance & Finance Committee ensures effective governance and sound financial management to achieve the Foundation's mission and desired community impact. They develop policies, oversee financial operations, protect the Foundation's endowment, and provide regular financial reports to the Board.

The Imagination Library Committee is dedicated to enhancing Dolly Parton's Imagination Library Program in Washington County. They actively raise funds, organize events, and increase community awareness to boost registration rates and ensure more children have access to books and reading resources.
Commitment & Responsibilities:
Attend quarterly meetings
Strategically raise funds to support the expansion and sustainability of Dolly Parton's Imagination Library Program in Washington County.
Plan and execute engaging events that foster community awareness, participation, and increased registration rates for the program.
Collaborate with local partners, schools, and libraries to maximize the program's reach and ensure that more children have access to books and reading resources.

The Marketing Committee provides expert guidance on upcoming marketing and communication strategies, ensuring outreach efforts align with the Foundation's mission and audiences. Meeting regularly, the committee identifies new opportunities and enhances the Foundation's marketing, branding, and outreach efforts to ensure cohesive and impactful promotion.

The Scholarship Committee independently reviews applications and recommends scholarship recipients based on predetermined criteria, adhering to IRS National Standards and Foundation policies. The committee undergoes annual training, and members operate at their own pace to complete the scholarship selection process.
