Moving Down the Ohio River: Courtney Wentz Concludes Tenure at Marietta Community Foundation
Washington County, OH — After three impactful years, Marietta Community Foundation is announcing the departure of its Communications & Marketing Director, Courtney Wentz.
Wentz, who joined the Foundation in July 2021, will conclude her tenure on September 6, 2024. She is set to follow the Ohio River to the Bluegrass State, relocating to Louisville, KY, due to her husband’s career change. There, she will continue her professional journey as a Marketing Specialist at Isaacs & Isaacs, a prominent personal injury law firm.
Reflecting on her time at the Foundation, Wentz said, "Washington County has always been home, and having the chance to give back to this community has been such a meaningful part of my life. It’s not easy to say goodbye, but knowing I’ve had a positive impact here makes the transition a bit easier. I’m looking forward to the future, but I’ll always value the connections and accomplishments we've made together over the past three years."
During her time with the Foundation, Wentz introduced new initiatives and processes designed to build a pipeline for future growth, helping lead the Foundation into its next chapter. Her forward-thinking approach has not only strengthened the Foundation’s current operations but also laid the groundwork for continued success.
Heather Allender, President & CEO of Marietta Community Foundation, expressed her appreciation for Wentz’s many contributions. "Courtney’s energy, creativity, and dedication have had a profound impact on our organization. Her ability to modernize our communications and increase our outreach has set the stage for long-term growth and engagement. We will miss her, but we wish her and her family the very best in their new journey," said Allender.
Wentz’s departure will be eased by the transition of her responsibilities to Laney Hitchens, who joined the Foundation in June 2024. As Communications & Marketing Associate, Hitchens has been working closely with Wentz to ensure continuity in the Foundation’s communications strategy and processes. With fresh ideas and a passion for the role, Hitchens is well-prepared to carry the Foundation’s messaging into the future.
"We are thrilled to have Laney join our team and confident she will continue the momentum Courtney has built. The Foundation remains committed to fostering strong community connections and sharing our mission with the same level of professionalism and passion," Allender added.
The entire team at Marietta Community Foundation extends its deepest gratitude to Wentz for her invaluable contributions and wishes her success in her future endeavors.
